GOT THAT
Delete your account and data
You can delete your Got That account and its data in two ways. You do not need to reinstall the app to make a request.
Option 1 — delete it in the app
- Open Got That and go to your account screen.
- Choose Delete account.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then sign in again when prompted.
The app confirms as soon as the request is accepted.
Option 2 — ask us by email
Email info@objektiv.com.au with the subject "Got That account deletion request" and include:
- the email address you used to sign in to Got That, sent from that same address where possible;
- the display name on your family, so we can identify the right account.
We may ask one further question to confirm the account is yours before deleting anything. We will not ask for your password. Never send us passwords, pairing codes or voice recordings.
We acknowledge requests within 5 business days and complete them within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Cancel your subscription separately. Deleting your Got That account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel through the original billing store to stop future charges. Our subscription and trial records are removed with your account; the billing stores keep their own transaction records.
If you own the family, the request immediately disables every paired phone. The service then deletes:
- your family and its device records, display names and public keys;
- all encrypted recordings and message metadata, including delivery and reply records;
- the anonymous identities belonging to paired child devices;
- your sign-in account.
If you are a parent member rather than the family owner, deletion removes your own account and revokes your phones, while the family and its other phones keep working.
Cleanup retries automatically if a provider is temporarily unavailable. Encrypted recordings expire within 24 hours in the normal course of events, whether or not you delete your account.
What may remain briefly
- Messages already prepared on another family phone stay in that phone's on-device inbox until they expire or that app is removed.
- Standard server and security logs age out under Google Cloud's retention period.
- We keep the minimum record needed to show a deletion request was handled, where law requires it.
Deleting one phone instead
To remove a single phone without closing your account, open the family screen in Got That and revoke that device. Delivery to it stops immediately.
